Polar Bear, tall, strong and commanding in the box. Real name
Igor, born north-east of Kazan in Russia. Nicknamed Cool because
of his white coat and ability to stay unfazed under pressure.
Has a wicked sense of humour and does a great impersonation
of the Scottish accent. Has been with the Ready Bears for 3
years and is dedicated to the Club. |

Brown Bear, smallish, fast and times his tackling to perfection.
Actual name James, proud to be from Ayrshire, Scotland. His
strong accent is sometimes difficult for team-mates to understand.
The comedian in the team who loves to play practical jokes.
His ability to pass wind at will is not a talent that is always
appreciated by his team mates. Despite his ‘happy go
lucky’ manner, Jimmy has a strong sense of fair play.

American Black Bear, solid defender, strong
in the air - a ‘stopper’ in the true sense of the
game. Full name is Archibald Bartholemew the Third, hence the
simplified AB. Born in Texas, USA. Considers himself trendy
and loves to be the centre of attention. His loud American accent
is always evident in the dressing room. Not particularly quick
witted so is often the butt of Jimmy’s jokes. Although
he doesn’t admit it to others, he likes and is very protective
of his little Scottish pal.

Giant Panda, tall, powerful and skilful distributor
of the ball. Chi was born in South West China. Quiet and mild
natured but a fierce competitor. Usually has a smile on his
face when not playing. Speaks excellent English and was made
captain at the start of his second season with the Ready Bears.
Bellows instructions and encouragement during the game. Loves
the Scottish Highlands and spends much of his free time hill
walking and river fishing. |

Sun Bear, slim and small with a crescent
chest blaze. Also has large paws. Good at intercepting opposition
moves and possesses great technique. Comes from Sumatra, Indonesia.
Studious and considered slightly eccentric by his team mates.
Often questions tactics which can annoy the Coach but sometimes
identifies key weaknesses in opposing teams. Wears glasses when
not playing football which adds to his intellectual image. |

Brown Bear, powerful and has great stamina,
Often makes runs from deep in his own half to link with the
forwards. Scorer of spectacular goals. Originally from Northern
Scotland but has lived in many parts of Europe, including Germany
of which he has fond memories. Very aggressive and a good ball
winner, fiercely supportive of his team mates which can land
him in trouble with referees. Grunts and scowls a lot which
tends to make him look angry but is actually soft at heart. |

|
Asiatic Black Bear, from northern India.
Has a commanding presence and reads the game well. Usually takes
the free kicks and is recognised as the best in the league.
The crescent shaped moon on his torso makes him easily recognised
and as he has relatively large ears, is often on the receiving
end of jokes in the dressing room. Has an infectious laugh which
is often mimicked by the others. Often seen eating, much to
the annoyance of the Coach. |

|
Sloth Bear, stocky but very fast. A great
passer of the ball. Originally from Sri Lanka. Has a long snout
and shaggy coat which can make him look a bit scruffy. Given
the nickname by Jimmy (after the sloth mammal which is noted
for sleeping a lot and therefore jokingly has to be woken up
with a call of wakey wakey !). Modest in nature, Wakey is very
popular with supporters and everyone at the club. |

|
Spectacled Bear, makes up for lack of physique
by being a great dribbler and is as strong with her left foot
as her right. Initially doubted by her team-mates but bravely
persevered on the field with some great performances. In the
team on merit. Former home was in Venezuela but is now settled
in Scotland. Still continues to call home every day. |

|
Brown (Grizzly) Bear, powerful and has white
tipped hairs on his shoulder and back making him look older
than his years. From Montanna in America. Although not especially
tall, Jake has great leaping ability and is a natural ‘poacher’
in the box. The Ready Bears top scorer. Can be a bit clumsy
and tends to bump into things. Always has something to say at
half time. |

|
Red Panda, small and attractive and loved
by the media. A natural footballer with great balance, very
fast over short distance and an accurate crosser of the ball.
Given his name by Cool ( actual name is ? ). Originally from
Southern China. Has been the subject of enquiries from several
big English clubs. However, Rusty is extremely loyal and wants
to win honours with this Ready Bears side. Questions as to whether
he actually is a bear can at times make him sad. |

Brown Bear from Northern Italy. Charismatic
and effusive. A great tactician and motivator of his players.
Away from football he’s regarded as sophisticated and
cultured. On match days he’s a ‘bear possessed’
and gesticulates wildly from the touchline. Showed much courage
in introducing a female (Iris) into the men’s game. |
